It’s more than a business- A holistic way of approach to life
In 2014, when I first decided to commercialize my recipe for babies and entered into the world of business with bundle of expectations I never thought of being so holistic. After branding “Nutreat” and researching the recipes to list more on my amazon product page, we all (my team) were so ambitious, done everything that a new start-up needs and looking for more market.
Day by day Nutreat started gaining its attention not as a commercial product but as a unique product in the market. Initially, I thought it’s because the label “homemade” . I was very excited about its response and as like many other start-ups decided to widen the market. Great ! there is nothing wrong in it right?
But a call early in the morning from “Varanasi” in the year 2016, I roughly remember the month greeting “Thanks a lot dear” a personal approach along with a kind note of appreciation “My baby loves your food than any other and our only hope is Nutreat for instance” . This really made me to think, sorry ‘rethink’ about expanding Nutreat as a commercial product. Wanted to make it much more a personal in a holistic way.
To say my real journey as an entrepreneur just started in the year 2017 and made a lots of research by talking to knowledgeable people around me, gathering information from elder generations, collecting the people’s actual requirement from the market, a real food veda from nutritionists etc. These all made me to feel Nutreat much more personal and decided to “ craft it but not to process it” . Implemented the primitive Indian techniques like stone grinding, clay pot roasting, sun drying and using local grown ingredients, just like our grand mom’s kitchen. Handcrafting Nutreat not just made it more holistic and real food but internally made me to approach life in a different angle. Started treating my helpers as the real curators of Nutreat who take the real pain while stone grinding the rice and other ingredients. Crafting just like I use to craft for my baby or my dad indulging my heart along with my brain. learnt to treat each customer as my own friend or relative and started approaching so. Pairing up spirituality while crafting it. And finally, enabling it to customize as per their personal requirement considering each human is different and needs are different.
And, I am glad to say that Nutreat is able to employee 8–10 women a day and win almost 5000 hearts online and over 500 hearts personally. The numbers may be tiny but I consider it as a huge thing that “ I am able to win 500 hearts personally living in a small town in Andhra pradesh where you don’t even expect a rail station as means of transport. But I thank Malkipuram which initially made me feel very depressed about living in rural area after spending 22 years of my life in cities & metros, for getting women who can stone grind rice and sun dry all ingredients all through out the year who keep their soul in crafting Nutreat.
Crafting Nutreat is driving me in a complete different way and approach it in a holistic way- transforming me, which my university did not teach me while pursuing M.Pharmacy.
